Carpet Beetle
Carpet beetles are a small pest that can live both inside and outside of the home. They are often confused with bed bug, but they are very different. Carpet beetles can cause damage, especially if their population are allowed to grow while inside the home.
Appearance
Carpet beetles have six legs, two antennas, and an oval shaped body. They have a hard outer shell. Carpet beetles are also able to fly, which is another distinction between carpet beetles and bed bugs.
Diet
Carpet beetles feed on things such as pet hair, leather, wool, and silk. This means that any item made from those materials are at risk of carpet beetle infestation. These items include clothing, couches, carpet, and blankets. Adult carpet beetles are also known to feed and live outside as well. They will eat pollen and nectar while living outside.
